Oil and Gas Security Course

ABOUT THIS COURSE

INTRODUCTION

Welcome to the Oil and Gas security training course. Global energy and its demands are expected to rise by as much as 50% over the next decade and will mean even more extensive exploration and production activities by the Oil and Gas industry.

A large proportion of this is expected to come from many parts of the undeveloped world, bringing more challenges to the operating companies and more importantly to the security of these operations. Security provides organisations with the freedom to operate in these fragile environments. It allows for more freedom of movement and productivity of its infrastructure and platforms, along with its exploration operations.

Due to the ever changing climate, world views and politics, the security of operations within the Oil and Gas industry have been become even more important and vast in its bid to keep up with the demands of the modern market.

These are very much generic, however can be and should be used whilst carrying out security work throughout the industry.

It cannot be underestimated the importance of the relationship between the security operators and the client. The balance of successful security can only be achieved if the security provider has a comprehensive understanding of the client’s needs. This coupled with a good relationship will not only enhance the level and effectiveness of the security provided but also in the productivity of the operation.

• Environment hostile and geographical
• Local politics and previous conflict resentment
• Quality and experience of local work force
